Panel Picks Favor Missouri in SEC Matchup
Four of the five analysts on ESPN’s College GameDay picked the No. 14-ranked Missouri Tigers to defeat Texas A&M in their upcoming Southeastern Conference matchup.
The selections were made during the program's broadcast, which was taped live from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, ahead of the conference’s marquee game between Alabama and Georgia. The panelists included Desmond Howard, Rece Davis, Pat McAfee, former head coach Nick Saban, and guest picker Bryce Young.
Howard, Davis, McAfee, and Saban all selected Missouri to win the contest. Young was the sole member of the panel to pick Texas A&M.
The game between the Aggies and the Tigers is scheduled to be broadcast on ABC from Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri.
Team Records and Recent Performance
The analysts' picks come as Texas A&M enters the contest with a 0-2 record in conference play. The Aggies have suffered losses to Kentucky and LSU to start the 2026 campaign.
This marks the first time under head coach Mike Elko that the Aggies have begun an SEC season with two losses.
Missouri enters the matchup with momentum from a recent victory over Florida. In that contest, the Tigers held Heisman Trophy candidate Jadan Baugh to just 13 yards on 12 carries, stifling one of the conference's most potent offensive threats.
Texas A&M has shown flashes of competitiveness in non-conference play, recently defeating Arkansas 34-7. However, context surrounding that win suggests a challenging path ahead; Arkansas had not secured an SEC victory since 2024, indicating the Aggies faced a struggling opponent in their most recent outing.
The disparity in recent defensive performances and conference standing contributed to the panel's consensus. With Missouri demonstrating the ability to contain high-profile quarterbacks like Baugh, the majority of experts viewed the Tigers as the stronger side heading into this critical SEC clash.
