It is where the last original Hakka families live amid an exodus of those seeking a more modern environment. Among them stands Zhang Zhouyin, an elderly man worried about the village temple's fate; or his daughter-in-law, Wei Yi, who spends her days guiding visitors through these awe-inspiring structures.
