Episode Guide
Filmmaker Ric Burns contributes a moving postscript to his series "New York: A Documentary Film" by tracing the World Trade Center’s ascent and collapse. Burns confronts Sept. 11 with wrenching intensity, yet more than half the film foregrounds the Center’s rise. It isn’t a pretty narrative: a labyrinth of economic, political, architectural, and engineering forces. The project proved a critical and commercial flop, though historian Kenneth Jackson observes, "It’s more important to history now that it’s gone."
