And, Live
At age three, Toko Ikuta loses her parents in a car accident, and her uncle, who runs a barbershop in Morioka, raises her, granting her a cheerful, cherished childhood. She emerges as a local idol with dreams of becoming an actress. At nineteen, she is poised to audition in Tokyo. The day before this audition, on March 11, 2011, the great Tohoku earthquake and tsunami devastates Japan. By autumn 2011, Toko Ikuta works at a cafe and, alongside her Korean coworker Han Yoo-Ri, travels to Kesennuma to volunteer as the region rebuilds from the disaster. There, she crosses paths with Kiyotaka Shimizu, a Tokyo-based university student and member of a student volunteer group. As they spend time together in Kesennuma, Toko Ikuta and Kiyotaka Shimizu develop mutual feelings for each other.
