Beakman's World

Beakman's World is an educational children's television series inspired by Jok Church's Universal Press Syndicate comic strip You Can with Beakman and Jax. The program first premiered on September 18, 1992, on The Learning Channel and in national syndication. On September 18, 1993, it shifted from national syndication to CBS Saturday morning children's lineup. At the height of its popularity, the show reached nearly 90 countries worldwide. It was canceled in 1998. Reruns returned to national syndication in September 2006, after which distribution transitioned to local stations such as KICU. The program debuted a year before Bill Nye the Science Guy, which covered similar topics. The host, Paul Zaloom, continues to perform as Beakman in live appearances around the world.
