Behind Blue Skies
It's 1975, and Martin, a teenager, longs to break free from a stifling home life ruled by his alcoholic father and the patient, weary mother. When his friend Micke suggests they take waiter jobs together at a resort along the Swedish coast, Martin eagerly agrees—only for Micke to tire of the plan and leave him to go it alone. The sight of the pretty fellow server Jenny offers a welcome consolation, but to Martin's surprise the guileless youth is chosen as the protégé of Gösta, the resort's short-tempered manager. Gösta clearly likes Martin and makes him his right-hand man, delivering a crash course in the seedy side of life as Martin discovers Gösta's various business interests, not all of which are legal or ethical.
