Celebrity Deathmatch

Celebrity Deathmatch is a claymation series that pits famous personalities against each other in a wrestling ring, often ending in the loser's brutal demise. The program is known for its graphic bloodshed and exaggerated injuries, delivering dark humor through over-the-top matches. Created by Eric Fogel, the pilot episodes aired on MTV on January 1 and 25, 1998. The main run extended from May 14, 1998 to October 20, 2002, totaling 75 episodes. A standalone special, Celebrity Deathmatch Hits Germany, aired June 21, 2001, and did not count toward the final episode total. Professional wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin provided the voice for his animated character as guest commentator. In early 2003, MTV announced a film adaptation, but the project was canceled by year’s end. In 2005, MTV2 revived the series as part of its Sic 'Em Friday programming. Although initially slated to return in November 2005, the premiere was moved to June 10, 2006, as part of a new Sic'emation block alongside Where My Dogs At and The Adventures of Chico and Guapo. The fifth season was produced by Cuppa Coffee Studios, and its premiere drew over 2.5 million viewers, MTV2's highest-rated season premiere to date.
