Season 3
Episode Guide
We invite you to discover a destination that does not appear in Japan’s major guidebooks. Located 1,300 km from Tokyo, Amami-Oshima is an island in the sea between Kyushu and Okinawa Prefecture. The waters surrounding the island, designated as a National Park, are renowned for their crystal-clear visibility, vividly colored coral reefs, and tropical fish, making it a spectacular diving destination. This subtropical island is also home to numerous rare and endangered endemic animals and plants, and it remains mild even in winter. Our cycling journey begins in the northern part of the island, where Amami Airport is located. Along the way, you will meet people who preserve the island’s original culture, including island songs and Oshima Tsumugi, a traditional high-quality handcraft. Please join us on this 330 km journey around the southern wonder island of Amami-Oshima!
