Difficult Daughters

In 1940s Lahore, Virmati, the eldest of ten in a rigid Punjabi clan, challenges tradition in her thirst for learning and love, only to become entangled as the second wife of a married professor. Fast forward to 2022, her granddaughter Simar battles a deteriorating marriage and a clandestine affair; when she uncovers Virmati’s concealed history, she is compelled to confront her estranged mother, Ila.
