Action-packed saga of friendship between two rival Edo-era firefighters, Kichigoro and Jirokichi, set in old Japan. When Mukai Sadayu, a vassal of Shinagawa Daihachi, the Kaga Clan's accounting officer, demands that Omon serve tea at his mansion and she refuses, the clan's samurai abduct her, triggering a sequence of events that thrusts the two firefighters into a perilous world of danger and excitement. Jirokichi, leader of Edo's firefighting squad Ha-gumi, must first rescue Omon from the Kaga Clan's retainers.
