Geoff and Rich Brewer are brothers who have spent their lives vying for parental affection, professional success, and romantic pursuits. The elder Rich consistently comes out on top, leaving Geoff to toil in his shadow. A freak accident devastates the family. In a moment of desperation, Geoff seeks out a backwoods cult rumored to wield supernatural powers. The bumbling cult’s rite initially seems to remedy the crisis, but it soon becomes clear that they have unleashed a sinister force upon their unsuspecting Midwestern town.
