Ezo Gelin
Inspired by the tale of Ezo the Bride, a striking young woman with ebony hair and rosy cheeks, who dwelt in a small village in southern Turkey. Every man who passed through the village fell in love with her, and her family hoped she would find a fitting match. Yet Ezo was not blessed in love. Her first husband loved another woman, and she was allowed to leave the marriage on grounds of maltreatment. Her second husband lived in Syria, and she longed for her village.
