After his clash in the Nether with his younger brother Shou, Shinra Kusakabe's resolve to become a life-saving hero fighting flame terror grows stronger. His goals: find a way to turn the Infernals back into people, unravel the mysteries of the Evangelist and Adolla Burst, and rescue his mother and Shou. But he learns that reaching these aims will not be easy, especially with the Evangelist's looming danger. The Evangelist's plan is clear: to gather the eight pillars—the individuals who possess Adolla Burst—and sacrifice them to recreate the Great Cataclysm. When the First Pillar reveals that the birth of a new pillar is near, Shinra resolves to protect his fellow pillars from the Evangelist. Joined by the Special Fire Force, Shinra's battle continues as he uncovers the truth about the Great Cataclysm, the nature of Adolla Bursts, and the mysteries surrounding human combustion.
