Flying Lessons

Two estranged adopted sisters are compelled to unite after their mother's sudden death: Beatrice, an autistic Chinese high school senior who longs to learn to fly, and Talia, a queer Black musician who never sought custody of Beatrice. Starring the autistic actress on whom the story is based, the film blends narrative and documentary styles, offering a distinctive, underrepresented perspective on death and grief.
