The sole surviving film from the inaugural journey of Aleksandr Medvedkin’s Kinopoezd (film train), this 'film newspaper' exposes a central aim of the project: to cultivate shame. It publicly names and shames impoverished workers, while local leaders are filmed during a long, ill-focused meeting, ignoring the urgent demands of the work that surrounds them.
