Season 11
Shonda Rhimes outlined that Season 11 of the show would be Meredith-centric. Meredith faces a turning point in her personal life: she's lost her person, her half-sister has appeared, and her husband is eager to head in another direction. She also confirmed that she's long wanted to pursue the familial grenade storyline, and felt the moment had arrived at the end of Season 10. Rhimes added that Season 11 will pick up immediately where Season 10 left off, with little in the way of unseen developments for the audience. In another interview about this arc, she indicated that she and the writers are considering flashbacks to the younger days of Drs. Ellis Grey and Richard Webber.
