Season 3

The season follows the ongoing surgical residency of five young interns as they navigate the demanding, competitive world of medicine, a crucible that shapes their personal evolution. Although set at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital in Seattle, Washington, filming primarily occurred in Los Angeles, California. Whereas Season 1 centered on the impact the surgical field has on the main characters and Season 2 offered a detailed perspective on the physicians’ private lives, Season 3 confronts the tough challenges of the final phase of the interns’ residency, blending the professional focus highlighted in Season 1 with the intricate personal backstories introduced in Season 2. Throughout the season, several new storylines arise, including the arrival of Dane's character, Dr. Mark Sloan, conceived and introduced as an antagonistic presence.
