Head War

Head War is a short film that originated as a poetry collection by Sadie McCarney and was brought to the screen by videographer Adam-Michael James. Drawing from McCarney’s own medical records from inpatient care, the film chronicles her stark, sometimes brutal and surreal, yet always candid journey from rock bottom to the trailhead of recovery. Audiences traverse trenches that are at once poignant, disturbing, funny, and hopeful as the narrative unfolds.
