Season Five of Heartland follows Amy as she attains a higher level of horsemanship, unlocking a liberating path ahead. Ty comes to terms with the need to make hard choices to move forward in life and in his relationship with Amy. Lou wrestles with the realities of motherhood and the prospect of returning to the workforce as finances tighten. Tim seeks out his long-lost son to forge a bond and must figure out how to tell his daughters they have a brother. And Jack remains the steadfast anchor of Heartland, guiding his family through the highs and lows with a blend of gentle support and occasional blunt honesty.
