Here Ends the World We've Known
1645, Guadeloupe. Ibátali, a Kalinago native and wife of a French colonist, guides Olaudah, an escaped African captive, on a perilous journey where his freedom and his life hang in the balance. She is prepared to sacrifice him to save her own skin. Yet their wounds forge a bond between them. Will this be enough to redefine them beyond the verdicts of colonisation that would designate them: a savage to be exterminated, an African to be enslaved?
