ISMO – Breaking Bad English is a cinematic take on the idea of "through hardships to the stars." Raised in Jyväskylä, Ismo is a shy boy with a vivid imagination who struggles to fit in. In his twenties, while studying, he discovers a new form of self-expression in Finland: stand-up comedy, which proves to be the perfect outlet for him. Ismo rapidly becomes one of Finland’s most successful stand-up comedians, but he is not satisfied with that achievement. He chooses to chase a career in the United States, the birthplace of the world’s most renowned comedians.
