Host and chef Jimmy Shu kicks off the series amid the bustle of Rapid Creek markets, where he has long wandered each Sunday morning to source produce for his restaurant, Hanuman. He showcases his preferred growers and their dazzling spectrum of tropical and Asian produce. From there, he heads south to Humpty Doo, 40km from Darwin, to meet Muy Keav, a trusted supplier with a story worth telling. Muy learned to cook from her mother and grandmother and shares a traditional recipe: Cambodian green mango salad. Back at Rapid Creek Market, Jimmy reconnects with home cook Karunika Pemaratne. Hailing from Sri Lanka, Karunika recounts childhood memories as she demonstrates her favourite Sri Lankan baby jackfruit curry. The journey ends with a sunset at the Nightcliff foreshore, where Jimmy savors a bite from the popular Needle In A Haystack food truck.
