Lady Baffles and Detective Duck in When the Wets Went Dry
A further comedy in which trick photography is a central device, delivering a sharp, evocative travesty of the temperance issue that sides with the dry faction. When the Governor refuses to sign a bill favored by liquor interests, the political boss presses to bend the executive to his will. After a sequence of exhilarating episodes, the Governor foils the politicians' scheming. They enlist Lady Baffles, who disguises herself as the Governor's wife to obtain the executive's signature on the bill. Detective Duck then traps the conspirators in a clever ruse and outplays Lady Baffles at her own game. (Moving Picture World Synopsis)
