Les Coulisses De L'Exploit emerged as a French sports-information television program created by Jacques Goddet and Raymond Marcillac, broadcast initially on RTF Television and later on the ORTF's first channel from December 13, 1961, through August 16, 1972. The program fused up-to-the-minute sports reporting with intimate portraits of men and women who achieve extraordinary feats. As Raymond Marcillac explained, competitive sport was never its sole focus; the show sought to uncover individuals whose lives are enriching and exhilarating, revealing acts worthy of admiration without hesitation.
