Making An Ancient Forest - Kalkalpen National Park
This documentary, three years in production, takes viewers to Kalkalpen National Park in Austria — the European Alps' largest expanse of pristine wilderness. For nearly a quarter of a century, humans have left the forests untouched to allow them to reclaim their natural, primordial state. In this self-regulating landscape, dramatic cycles of growth and decay unfold, and the hands-off conservation approach yields notable results: the lynx, absent from the region for 115 years, has returned.
