Mozalan

Mozalan (The Gadfly) is a satirical film magazine that began in 1971 at the Azerbaijanfilm studio named after Jafar Jabbarli. Since its inception, more than 180 issues have been published, each containing 3-4 stories. The stories span fiction, documentary, and even animation. Mozalan’s aim is to counteract negative conditions and reveal the shortcomings of society to the public through satire. A hallmark of the Mozalan team was the practice of making unexpected visits to manufacturing enterprises, documenting flaws, and conveying them to the people.
