The Next Chapter
On his journeys, Ginko encounters a spectrum of gifted individuals—some cursed by circumstance, others living in a delicate, evolving bond with the Mushi—confronting, inevitably, the question of whether humanity, both gifted and afflicted, can bear the responsibility of the unseen. As a Mushishi, he must deepen his understanding of these enigmatic beings and determine whether he has the right to intervene in the intricate dynamics between Mushi and humankind.

A sake brewer loses his way home and stumbles into a mysterious rite, where he tastes a sweet, glowing sake he can never forget. Years later, his son has taken up the family craft and strives to brew a sake that matches his father's legacy. In a similar late-night ceremony, the son pretends to belong and, during the rite, meets Ginko.
