When the council assumes Ben is disabled and begins issuing disability cheques, he tries to return the money, but the clerk won't listen. Rosemary, the gushing welfare visitor who comes to assess him, is so preoccupied with praising how brave she thinks he is that she won't let him get a word in edgeways.
