NO MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE
An intimate 55-minute personal documentary blending candid interviews, experimental imagery, and reflective narration to chart what growing up means when the people who love you struggle to accept who you are. Through screen-recorded conversations with friends, on-the-street interviews, and distant footage of everyday life, the film traces my upbringing as a queer non-binary trans person—where love, expectation, and shame coexisted—against a chorus of other adolescent narratives. Anchored by a conversation with a close friend and fellow artist, the work sits in the tension between care and rejection, asking whether anyone is truly special—or perhaps all of us are.
