Thriller Bark
While navigating the Florian Triangle, the Straw Hats land on the eerie Thriller Bark, a seemingly haunted island. There they confront the Warlord Gecko Moria, who wields his Devil Fruit powers to steal the crew's shadows. With the aid of a mysterious, talking skeleton named Brook, the crew must reclaim their shadows before sunrise in order to survive.

While seeking provisions, the Straw Hats pursue octopus hunting and stumble upon a barrel adrift at sea. Upon opening the barrel, fireworks erupt from it, propelling the Thousand Sunny into the misty Florian Triangle, where they encounter a wrecked ship bearing a living skeleton. While the others are unnerved, Luffy boards the vessel with Sanji and Nami, where they find the skeleton. After the skeleton introduces himself as Brook, Luffy immediately asks him to join the crew.
