Over The Horizon
The film traces the real-life journey of a single, resilient man who, despite everything, pushes beyond the limits of his own capabilities. Alexander Zhuravlev, a resident of Yekaterinburg, lost his sight at age 11 and retains only 2% residual vision. A few years ago, he decided he would not accept the prognosis of disability. He began to travel independently, mastered mountain skiing, and ultimately started taking photographs. An exhibition of his work opened in Moscow, inviting the public to behold the images of nature through his lens. Thus, a blind photographer showed people the beauty surrounding them. His photographs provoke the question: Why does a blind man show me the world? Why didn't I see all this? These works challenge viewers to recognize their own possibilities and to look beyond the horizon.
