This is the land of cabrito and carne asada. Across the state, multi-generational families gather at weekly carne asadas to share stories, connect, roast cabritos on open fire spits, and fling handmade flour tortillas directly onto the coals.

Retired mechanic Gualberto Elizondo, 'Weber,' surprises his grown children when his grilling hobby elevates him to local celebrity and a viral internet sensation. He escorts Pati through the La Huasteca mountains aboard his aging car, culminating at his famed back patio where he and his family serve cabrito en salsa and succulent short ribs. Meanwhile, local chef Chuy Villareal of Cara De Vaca is determined to show that the north of Mexico isn't limited to carne asada, infusing his traditional dishes with a Mediterranean twist.
