Syd is preparing to seek therapy to aid her leg's recovery from Encephalitis. She discovers her therapist is a man who isn't keen on medical machines. Pursuing rehabilitation, Syd begins a rigorous routine and ends up overdoing it. Jim shelters dogs that arrive from Chicago after their owner could not be located. Andi stalks Robbie because he refuses to cheat for her. Syd ignores signs that she needs rest while driving Izzy home and crashes into a tree. Joannie learns that Bert has a girlfriend. Feeling out of sorts, Syd contemplates quitting medicine.
