Volume 1: Within Dogura's stronghold, Nowa endures brutal, invasive torture and is later shown in her cell, clinging to fragmented memories of her master, Alleyne. Concurrently, Hinomoto comes under assault as the invasion unfolds. Tomoe and the other Musha-Miko repel the intruders, and a seemingly isolated Dogura is cornered by Tomoe, who vows she will not permit human trafficking to commence. Dogura smirks, insisting he is not alone and eagerly anticipates the moment he can bend such a formidable warrior as Tomoe to his will.
