Na Lan, a deft thief, schemes to bilk a royal highness for riches he does not possess. In the heat of his caper he uncovers that palace treasures have vanished following a blaze in the Forbidden City. Unbeknownst to him, feudal lords, bandits, and a swarm of greedy individuals have already caught wind of the rumor and set their sights on the prize. Na Lan obtains the map, a discovery that brands him with a target on his back. To save himself, he must locate the treasure first, so he departs with Bao Yan, the 1st Royal Highness, and You Chui to embark on an adventure in Jiangnan.
