Sanwri - Love Beyond Gender

Bhanwar, a naïve young man from rural Rajasthan, longs for a bride but is deceived. Instead of marrying a woman, he is wedded to a transgender person named Sanwri. With no recourse, Bhanwar and his uncle keep Sanwri in the household for domestic work, while concealing her true identity to shield themselves from social ostracism. Yet Bhanwar and Sanwri eventually fall in love, and together they fight to survive as a couple in a conservative, oppressive society where marriages are defined as unions between a man and a woman, and traditional norms trump humanity.
