Saving Banksy
Renowned worldwide, Banksy left his mark on San Francisco in April 2010, a moment that would unleash a cascade of consequences. Among them: one of his iconic rats was pried off a wall; museums, in a surprising misstep, declined a complimentary Banksy street piece; and a New York–based gallerist—who has made it his mission to remove Banksy street works from across the globe—stopped at nothing to claim the rat for himself.
