Sealab

Sealab, launched in 1969 off Northern California's coast, originated from a country doctor turned naval pioneer who envisioned expanding humanity's reach underwater as NASA did in space. The project centered on a 300-ton tubular, pressurized underwater habitat equipped with scientific laboratories and living quarters for divers, enabling them to inhabit and operate on the ocean floor for days or even months.
