Shaolin Dolemite
The film is constructed through a re-dub of footage shot for the 1986 Taiwanese kung fu feature Ren zhe da (known in English as Ninja: The Final Duel). Ren zhe da producer Robert Tai reportedly filmed about ten hours of material, which was trimmed to a 90-minute release. Much of the footage not used in Ren zhe da's release is incorporated into Shaolin Dolemite, along with original sequences showing Moore observing the story and delivering obscenity-laden commentary. Additional newly shot material includes a segment portraying Moore's longtime friend Jimmy Lynch as a Drunken Master named Sam the Spliff.
