Somehow Hopeful
Resistance to the status quo becomes a necessary rebellion in the face of essential change. SOMEHOW HOPEFUL chronicles the story of Jason Rutledge, a woodsman who dedicates his life to proven, time-tested methods for protecting our most vital life-giving asset—a healthy, diverse forest. The woodsman's ally in the effort to restore our environment has long been mankind's most reliable partner for thousands of years: the mighty draft horse. Jason, and those who share his path, are poets, craftsmen, artists, farmers, and educators who carry out the real work needed to make our planet whole again. While critics accuse the woodsman of clinging to the past, Jason believes he is living in the future.

Really incredible documentary. The actual story is fascinating, but it is the filming, commentary, flow and feel that truly captures the spirit of the message and brings you in and connects you with Jason and the people around him. Most documentaries today demand that you keep your guard up...but too choose a subject matter like this and deliver it in a way that educates and makes you think - is as refreshing as the actual subject matter itself. Bravo.
