Tar Creek

Tar Creek is an environmentally ravaged region of northeastern Oklahoma, characterized by acidic creeks, stratospheric lead poisoning, and enormous sinkholes. Nearly 30 years after its designation as a Superfund cleanup program, residents are still struggling.
