The CIA's Secret Army
This documentary scrutinizes Cuban exile militants based in Miami. These operatives were covertly trained and employed by the U.S. government in the early 1960s to oppose Fidel Castro. With U.S. backing paused, their activities persist in Miami and across Latin America. The program probes the clandestine U.S. policies toward Cuba in the 1960s and features conversations with Fidel Castro and former top CIA officials. The members of this group—who were secretly trained and employed by the U.S. Government until 1967—have been active in Watergate crimes and anti-Castro terrorism including a bombing on Cuban Airline killing seventy-three. The program includes interviews with Castro, E. Howard Hunt, Bernard Barker, and Rolando Martinez.
