The Frozen North
For more than 30 years, a man named Dick Proenneke lived in solitary seclusion in the Alaskan Bush. His only neighbors were wolves and grizzly bears, and his sole means of transportation were a canoe and his own two feet. Over the years, he maintained written journals of his daily life at Twin Lakes and documented much of his adventure on film with a 16mm Bolex camera. The Frozen North presents Dick's own filmed account of life alone in this 'One Man's Wilderness,' produced from original footage not included in Alone in the Wilderness or Alaska Silence & Solitude.
