On their tour of industrial restoration projects, the Bikers join a group of former miners who are painstakingly bringing Pleasley Colliery in Derbyshire back to life. Si's involvement is tinged with personal significance as he assists in reviving a steam winding engine—the same task his grandfather once performed as a winder. Dave contributes to a commemoration of 150 years of the London Underground by running Met 1, the tube's oldest operating steam locomotive, through its paces as it is readied to convey passengers again a century after its last service. The group also helps rekindle a barn engine on a Hampshire farm for the first time in six decades, and they uncover that the fairground was the ultimate expression of Victorian entertainment.
