The Lights of Ten Thousand Homes
This is a family drama about conflict and sacrifice set in hard-pressed Shanghai at the close of the 1940s. Hu Zhiqing struggles to support his wife and children, a burden aggravated by the unexpected arrival of his mother, brother, and sister-in-law. When he is dismissed by an unscrupulous boss, the family is swept into a relentless series of emotional and economic trials.
