The Second Declaration of Love

A documentary that traces the destinies of women who have lived in or across different regions of Ukraine, examining their trajectories in the present day. The film recounts the fates of the heroines of the 1966 feature Declaration of Love: Tekla Barmashova (killed in 1922); veterans Elizaveta Marapulets (died in 1982); Maria Lahunova (died in 1995); agronomist Maria Molodyk-Kryvokulska; a milkmaid; Nina Sribna-Babenko, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR; violinist Lyubov Chaikovska; and Zinaida Solovei, a glider and master of sports. These women and their loved ones share memories, discuss challenges, and reflect on modern Ukraine.
