The Thief and the Dogs
Inspired by Naguib Mahfouz's The Thief and the Dogs, this film follows Mahran, a thief who rapidly rises to lead his gang. His second-in-command orchestrates a bid to usurp him, seizing both his position and his wife. After serving a prison term, Mahran seeks retribution. Pursued by the police and by a fresh slate of enemies, he is fated to a tragic life spent hidden and on the run.
