The Trial of Billy Jack
Following his four-year sentence for involuntary manslaughter in the events of the previous film, Billy Jack returns as the Freedom School expands under Jean Roberts’ guidance. The utopian campus thrives with activities spanning from yoga-infused athletics to muckraking journalism, as its diverse student body operates a privately owned television station that broadcasts sharp political exposes. The townsfolk, narrow-minded in outlook, wrestle with their own brand of liberalism. Upon Billy Jack’s release, tensions flare and the school is targeted; students are threatened and abused, while the neighboring Native American community is taunted and mistreated. After Billy Jack undergoes a vision quest, the governor and the police plot to permanently end their liberal enterprise, leaving Billy Jack to save the day.
