The Voice of Innocence
The Voice of Innocence is a documentary that chronicles how, beginning in 1959, the Cuban Revolution implemented a comprehensive and universal policy to protect the rights of the child, even amid the enduring economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than six decades. Cuba stands as one of the principal signatories of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, signed on 20 November 1989, at a moment when the country had already made extraordinary strides in safeguarding children's rights, in contrast to developed nations such as the United States, which to date has not ratified the Convention.
