Season 7
Episode Guide
Kyle Card undertakes a 250-kilometer rail journey from the Seto Inland Sea shores of Okayama Prefecture to the Sea of Japan coastline of Tottori Prefecture. It is a bi-coastal traverse, yet much of the exploration unfolds in the inland, mountainous expanse revealed when the tracks he travels on were completed more than a century ago. The voyage begins aboard the scenic train La Malle de Bois, offering sweeping vistas of the Seto region. Soon, he leaves the waterline behind, first following the Tsuyama Line and then the Inbi Line to penetrate inland. As he winds deeper into the mountains, a sense of stepping back in time takes hold. In Tsuyama, he visits an old railway depot and a heritage museum. In Chizu, he stays with a local family at their farm-inn, absorbing a way of life deeply intertwined with nature. Departing from Tottori Station, he boards another sightseeing train, the Ametsuchi, en route to the Sea of Japan—his ultimate destination.
